Notary Services
Notarial services are available to all U.S. passport holders, and to foreign nationals for documents destined to be used in the United States. Notarial services are executed by Consular officers and may include documents to be signed before them, statements made under oath, powers of attorney, affidavits and acknowledgements.
For the legalization of a signature (on an affidavit or an acknowledgement), you have to show your passport or identity card.
To have a document notarized, you must come in person with the following documents:
A valid passport or ID-card
The document(s) to be notarized. Note that all documents must be complete, with all referenced attachments (if any) attached to the main document and all blanks (if any) filled in.
The applicable fee in US dollars or euro in cash, travelers' checks, or credit card (fee = $ 30.00 first signature; $ 20.00 each additional signature)
If your document needs to be witnessed, please bring your witnesses with you or be prepared to ask other clients in the waiting room to be your witness. The Consular employees are not allowed to serve as witnesses.
The consular fee for certified true copies amounts to $30.00. Please click here for information on obtaining original Vital Records documents from the U.S. For marriage legalization by means of an apostille, click here.
